Daily Eats {4.9.18} I Don’t Always Eat Intuitively

On the weekend I overate a little because the food I was eating was just so delicious.

Yes, you read that right.

It’s important to occasionally allow yourself to eat when you want to eat purely for pleasure instead of hunger. Unfortunately, my digestion can be very finicky and on this particular occasion I paid for this indulgence. On Sunday I felt physically terrible and suffered from bloating.

On Monday, I made a concerted effort to eat all of my meals at the table (to stay present and mindful) and drink enough water throughout the day to help restore the balance.

To start the day off I made a big smoothie with bananas, strawberries, spinach, MSM, maca, chlorella, cacao, peanut butter, and water.

I have also started taking these probiotics along with my B12 supplement in the morning.

After breakfast, I worked on a new course that I will be offering to you guys very soon! After this I taught a yoga class and came back home for lunch.

Lunch (1:30 pm)

For lunch, I had leftover chickpea and tomato soup (which you may have seen on my Instagram story on the weekend) topped with fresh basil and cilantro. I also made a wrap toasted with spreadable jalapeño cheese (this recipe was also on my story) and half of an avocado. This was so satisfying! I love toasted wraps.

After lunch my day got crazy busy with clients, errands, going to the gym, walking Hugo, and teaching another yoga class which led to a very late dinner.

Dinner (9:00 pm)

When I got home I was beyond hungry, if I had made a hunger scale larger than 5 in the Break Up With Your Diet Journal I would pick that!

I knew my digestion might suffer from this large gap between meals so I made myself a soothing, warm coconut milk with cinnamon and cardamom. Then I ate cookies because when you are over hungry, you naturally crave sugary and fatty foods. Fortunately, these cookies are free from refined sugar. You can find the recipe for the everything cookies here.

After this, I ate most of this delicious thali with one roti and half of a samosa.

I drank 3 litres of pure filtered water throughout the day.
